History is made by everyone.
July 4, 2026 marks 250 years since the Declaration of Independence. It's a milestone that deserves more than fireworks and speeches — it deserves a real, honest, creative reckoning with what America is, what it has been, and what it might become.
250.world is that reckoning. We're building an open archive of creative work that documents this moment from every angle — celebratory and critical, personal and political, rural and urban, old and new.
We believe the most important historical documents aren't always made by historians. They're made by photographers, musicians, poets, filmmakers, and ordinary people who decide to pay attention. This project is for them.
Open to all voices
We collect work from professional artists and first-time contributors alike. The only requirement is that it's honest.
Every medium
Photography, film, writing, music, art, interviews — we don't privilege one form over another.
Celebratory and honest
We honor the milestone while making room for complexity. America at 250 is both things at once.
Built to last
This archive is designed to be a permanent record — something people can return to in 2076 and beyond.
